Scrubs – ABC – Wednesdays @ 8p
Last year when I heard that Scrubs was being cancelled, well, that was a sad day. Yes, 7 years was a long run, and yes we had the chance to watch JD [Zach Braff], Turk [Donald Faison], Elliot [Sarah Chalke], Carla [Judy Reyes] and the rest of the crew grow up, but still… sad.
And then, when the series finale aired – 7.11 “My Princess” – well, I was a little pissed off.
NOTHING!! THEY GAVE ME NOTHING!! A FAIRY TALE? WHAT ABOUT… EVERYTHING!
And so, in a huff, I went my merry way from this show…. and then… one fall night… as I sat on my couch 25 months pregnant, probably eating brownies – there it was! On ABC? SCRUBS IS BACK!??!
After NBC decided to put the sitcom on hiatus, evidently ABC snatched it right up and brought it back for another season of fun at Sacred Heart Hospital! But things have changed! I mean, 8 years is a VERY long time to watch Elliot and JD’s on again off again relationship go ON AGAIN.
So the writers did something wonderful – INTERNS! This is one of the funniest season yet of Scrubs. We have our familiar faces, fun pranks and jokes (Thank You Janitor! [Neil Flynn]), we even still get to see Bob Kelso [Ken Jenkins] even though he retired – thank god for that life long supply of muffins from the coffee shop attached to the hospital!
Dr. Cox [John C. McGinley] is now the Chief of Medicine, which allows Jordan [Christa Miller] to be as bitchy as she has ever wanted to be! (Love it!) Carla and Turk are pregnant for the second time, Isabella needs a little sister or brother now doesn’t she? Yes, Elliot and JD are trying again to be the couple that ends all couples – but something new! Janitor is dating Lady [Kit Pongetti] and Ted [Sam Lloyd] even has a girlfriend! (Stephanie Gooch – [Kate Micucci])
